About this site

Stone Freedom is the brainchild of Saoirse Victoria Stone, a magnificent transsexual lesbian. She's a teacher, author, wife, daughter, sister, and more, but her first love has always been writing her silly little essays.

The site is called what it's called for several reasons, but the most obvious is that it's an inversion of its mother's name. Saoirse is Irish Gaelic for freedom. Saoirse named herself in this way because if she was already choosing for herself, she might as well pick the thing she cared about more than anything.

She doesn't write because she wants to. She writes because she has to. If somebody actually reads what she's written, that's just gravy.
